Lance Barber and Zoe Perry reunite on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, but one of their Young Sheldon children is notably absent. Weeks before The Big Bang Theory universe expands again with its latest installment, work continues for the cast of Montana Jordan and Emily Osment’s upcoming series. Set a couple of months after the Young Sheldon finale, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will continue Georgie’s life in Texas. While none of Georgie’s family will be series regulars in the upcoming project, some are still confirmed to return.
In a new image shared by Haley Joel Osment on Instagram, Perry and Barber are seen on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, but Sheldon actor, Iain Armitage, is notably absent. Check out the photo below:
The snap is taken in the living room of the McAllisters in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Aside from Barber and Perry, the familiar faces include Raegan Revord, who played Missy in Young Sheldon, and Jordan. With Mary and George’s two children present, Armitage’s absence in the image becomes more apparent.

CBS Has Creative Ways To Bring Back George
As seen in the photo, Barber is not groomed the way George usually was in Young Sheldon. This means that instead of being there to participate in the filming, the actor was present to show support for his former co-stars. Considering the appearances of Perry’s Mary and Revord’s Missy, it’s safe to say that this snap was taken during the live-studio taping of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage‘s upcoming Thanksgiving episode, which will also serve as a reunion for the Coopers after the events of Young Sheldon. It will also feature Annie Potts’ Meemaw and Craig T. Nelson’s Dale.

The Young Sheldon finale is sadder after learning of George Cooper Sr. actor Lance Barber’s secret involvement in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Just because Barber isn’t reprising his role in this particular Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage episode, it doesn’t mean that he will never appear in the show. George may have died in Young Sheldon, but there are creative ways to bring back the beloved character. CBS can do that via flashbacks and visions, the same way The Big Bang Theory did with Arthur Jeffries on the heels of Professor Proton’s death. Considering Barber’s close relationship with his former co-workers, it shouldn’t be that difficult to convince him to reprise his fan-favorite role as the Cooper patriarch.

It is quite disappointing that Armitage isn’t in the Cooper family reunion on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. While the actor has also watched one of the live-studio filmings of the Young Sheldon sequel, it would have been great to see the complete clan back on the set — even though they won’t be in their family home but will be inside the McAllister’s house. The great news is, that the producers behind Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage are actively looking for a way to bring back Sheldon to Texas for a fun visit to his older brother.
