Sandra Redknapp has been hospitalised with a mystery illness, a racing commentator has revealed.
Racing pundit Matt Chapman paused proceedings during Thursday’s coverage on ITV4 as he issued an update on her condition.
Matt went on to say that Harry Redknapp, 78, would be watching the race from hospital rather than the stands as his wife of 57 years was being treated there.
It is not known when Sandra was taken to hospital or what she is being treated for.
‘So, King of Bears, just to say Harry Redknapp will be watching this horse from his hospital bed, but not his bed, his missus Sandra is just being treated in hospital at the moment,’ Matt said.
‘Sandra, if you’re listening in – I think she wanted to watch Emmerdale, but Harry’s making her watch this race – I really hope King of Bears runs well.
‘He’s a character. He could win it, he could finish last, but he gives Jack Doughty a big chance for [trainer] George Scott.’

Harry was a promising young footballer with West Ham United when he met apprentice hairdresser Sandra Young on a rowdy dancefloor above Stratford’s legendary Two Puddings pub in 1968.
Months later they were married, with Sandra supporting her husband as he finished his football career with defunct north American club Seattle Sounders before establishing himself as a much-loved coach and manager.
Some fifty-seven years after their wedding day the Two Puddings has long-since closed its doors, but Harry and Sandra remain as inseparable as ever.
And the couple have insisted the key to their remarkable longevity is mutual friendship.
The couple share two sons, Jamie and Mark.
Appearing on a 2022 edition of Loose Women, Harry said: ‘We just love each other. It’s always just the two of us, people probably think we’ve got no friends.’
The former West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth boss featured on the ITV show alongside his wife as they promoted their memoir, When Harry Met Sandra, an anecdotal look back at their love story.
Recalling the life-changing night he crossed paths with Sandra, Harry said: ‘There used to be a dance above the two puddings in Stratford – it was like a disco where they played all the music, so I went along with my my mate.

‘Sandra was there with her mate. We plucked up the courage to have a dance and I think Sandra got the worst deal because my mate was better looking than me.
‘That was it really, we’ve been together ever since.’
Better known for his 32-year managerial career, Harry won a broader fanbase in 2018 after winning the eighteenth series of ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The former football manager was famously reunited with his wife in the Australian jungle after show bosses granted a surprise meeting.
Harry admitted his emotional reaction was the consequence of Sandra falling ill before he entered camp.
He explained: ‘What made it worse was just before I went on the show Sandra had sepsis and was really ill, so I wasn’t going to go, you know.

‘But then she improved so I said any problems and I’m out of there straight away.
‘Anyway when they called me down to the Bush Telegraph of whatever they called it, they said “we want you out, you’ve got to leave the camp immediately.”
‘I said “why, what’s happened?” They said, “we can’t tell you, you’ve got to go out, you’ve got to leave now.”
‘So when I saw Sandra it made it ten times worse as I thought there was a problem.’
