Raegan Revord’s Missy Return In Georgie & Mandy’s Young Sheldon Sequel Revealed In New BTS Video
Missy is officially back after Young Sheldon, as Raegan Revord officially reprises the role in a new Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage behind-the-scenes video. Months after Young Sheldon ended, the Coopers’ story in Texas continues via Emily Osment and Montana Jordan’s new sequel series. While the focus will be on Georgie and Mandy as they navigate their new life with a newborn, some familiar faces from its parent show are confirmed to make an appearance. Zoe Perry and Annie Potts have already reprised their roles as Mary and Meemaw, and now, it’s Revord’s turn.
Taking it to her official Instagram account, Revord shares the first look at her return as Missy in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Check out the snap below:
In the video, Revord is seen in front of the sound stage where the cast and crew of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage are filming the series. In the caption, she simply writes “Medford 📍,” referring to the Texas town where Young Sheldon and its follow-up show are set.
How Missy Fits In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage
Missy Is Georgie’s Responsibility Now.
Since Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage picks up a couple of months after George’s unexpected death, the involvement of the Coopers in the new show shouldn’t be surprising. If anything, they should even be series regulars in the new series, especially since The Big Bang Theory canon mandates that Georgie will be taking over the family on the heels of his dad passing away. This was the root of his deep grudge against Sheldon when the brothers reunited in the nerd-centric sitcom. Unfortunately, they are relegated to guest stars, with the McAllisters becoming the show’s new supporting family.
Now, Chuck Lorre’s new expansion project will further delve into Missy’s rebellion, an arc that started in Young Sheldon season 6 after being overlooked all the time.
At the very least, however, Missy will be a recurring character in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. Initially, she was only set to appear in episode 2, but her role has been expanded. Now, Chuck Lorre’s new expansion project will further delve into Missy’s rebellion, an arc that started in Young Sheldon season 6 after being overlooked all the time. She briefly redeemed herself as the family went through many changes at the start of season 7. However, the loss of George once again pulled her back to her dark ways. Now, it’s Georgie’s responsibility to look after her.
CBS’ Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage may be starting a new storytelling chapter in The Big Bang Theory universe, but it’s absolutely imperative that it still honors its ties to Young Sheldon. One way to do that is to feature familiar and beloved characters from the prequel. Perhaps after the first season, Lorre and his team may even reconsider making Missy a series regular, especially since there are still so many stories left to tell about Sheldon’s twin.
