‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Casts Jessie Prez & Dougie Baldwin
CBS’ Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage has cast Jessie Prez and Dougie Baldwin in series regular roles.
The series follows Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.
Prez is Ruben, a long-time employee at McAllister’s tire store who’s less than enthusiastic about the shop’s newest hire, Jim’s son-in-law, Georgie. Baldwin is Connor McAllister, Mandy’s younger brother, a talented oddball with musical prowess who still lives with his parents. Coddled by his mother, Audrey (Rachel Bay Jones), and hassled by his father, Jim (Will Sasso), Connor doesn’t fit in even in his own family.
Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Steve Holland will serve as executive producers of the series, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Prez began his acting career in his native Chicago’s formidable storefront theater community. Some of his theater credits include “This Is Modern Art” and “How Long Will I Cry?”, both being performed at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. He’s since made notable appearances on “Shameless,” “Bosch: Legacy,” “9-1-1: Lone Star,” “The Rookie: Feds,” and “Abbott Elemantary.” Prez most recently appeared as the infamous drug dealer Sal Magluta on the hit Netflix series “Griselda.”
Baldwin was one of the leads opposite Kathy Bates in Chuck Lorre’s Netflix series “Disjointed.” Before that, he led the WB/CBS pilot “What Goes Around Comes Around” opposite Jason Lee and Alyssa Milano. He was the series lead of the International Emmy-winning teen series “Nowhere Boys” which was picked up by Hulu for US distribution rights. His breakout role was in the dramedy “Upper Middle Bogan,” which just wrapped on its third season. Most recently, he shot the feature “The Turning” opposite Rose Byrne, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving and Miranda Otto.
