Fans have trolled former soap star Melissa George after an unearthed clip of the actress on Home and Away recently resurfaced.
The 48-year-old, now based in Paris, played character Angel on the long-running drama for three years in the mid-1990s, only to later slam her time on the show and reject her home country.
In the clip, which has resurfaced on Instagram, Melissa is seen in a dramatic confrontation with co-star Isla Fisher, who played Shannon on the show.
‘Should tag Melissa George in this. I’m sure she would really love that,’ posted one viewer.
Another fan took aim at The Amityville Horror star’s talent.
‘Pathetic acting from Melissa George. No wonder she doesn’t like reminders of her time on H & A,’ they brutally wrote.

‘No one deserves their “career” to have tanked more than Melissa Angel George,’ said another fan.
‘Don’t ruin her espresso in Paris,’ another viewer added sarcastically.
The backlash against the popular star came after Melissa appeared on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show in 2012.
Melissa became frustrated during the interview when hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies focused too much on her role as Angel in Home and Away.
‘I love this city [Sydney] so much. And I want to come home a lot but the stress that this has created in me is not worthy of my health,’ she said after her Morning Show appearance, according to the Herald Sun.
‘I think it will be the last time I visit and work here for a while, to be honest, because I just get too upset coming home,’ she continued.
‘I don’t need credibility from my country anymore, I just need them all to be quiet. If they have nothing intelligent to say, please don’t speak to me anymore.’
She then uttered a statement that would go on to haunt her for the next decade.

‘I’d rather be having a croissant and a little espresso in Paris or walking my French bulldog in New York City.’
She later clarified that she made the comments because she was on the show to promote and raise money for McHappy Day, but the hosts only wanted to discuss her time on Home and Away.
The Alias actress then apologised following backlash, saying: ‘The events of the week have upset me and I want to apologise to any of my fans who were offended about my comments about Australia last weekend.
‘I’m really proud of my Australian roots and I will continue to come home often to see my family and to work here. In fact my favourite croissants in the world are at the Bourke Street Bakery in Surry Hills,’ she continued.
‘I’m also proud of my early work in Australia and am always happy for people to refer to Home and Away, but what I really want to be able to talk to my fans about is the work I’m doing now.’
Melissa has built an impressive career since leaving the Aussie soap back in 1996.
She played Camilla Rhodes in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive and had the lead role alongside A-lister Ryan Reynolds in the blockbuster Amityville Horror remake.
The star also had memorable roles in hit TV shows like Alias and Grey’s Anatomy, and the Apple+ hit The Mosquito Coast.

It comes after the Perth-born actress shocked her social media followers in January 2024 when she confirmed she was pregnant with her third child – she has not revealed the identity of the father.
The blonde beauty welcomed her boy Lyor Gatsby in March 2024.
Melissa shares her sons, Raphaël, nine, and Solal, seven, with her ex-partner Jean-David Blanc, a French entrepreneur.
Due to a custody arrangement, their children can’t leave France with their mother without their father’s consent, which means she is now based in Paris.
She was previously married to Chilean furniture designer and film director Claudio Dabed from 2000 to 2011.
