Simon Cowell ‘devastated’ as he breaks silence over LA wildfires in emotional video

The X Factor boss Simon Cowell has spoken out about the devastating wildfires that have been tearing through Los Angeles, as he pledged to donate money to help those affected.

Simon Cowell has expressed his condolences and support to those affected by the devastating wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles.

In the wake of the catastrophic blazes that have claimed numerous homes across California, unyielding fires have cascaded through the region since Tuesday, leading to thousands of evacuations.

As residents face evacuation orders and stringent water restrictions are enacted, the inferno has already claimed 16 lives and obliterated over 37,000 acres of terrain.

Responding to the calamity via Instagram, the 65 year old television tycoon who owns a residence in Malibu, amongst the impacted areas, issued a heartfelt video over the weekend.

In his message, he articulated: “Los Angeles has been my second home for the past twenty five years. I am devastated by what I’ve seen and read. What is happening right now is horrific”, reports the Mirror.

Eager to contribute aid in the wake of the disaster, he vowed: “Like many other people I want to do something to help. I have done some research and I will be donating to @redcrossla. I have added their link in my bio for further information on ways to support. I am sending my thoughts, love and prayers to everyone affected. Love, Simon x.”

The fierce wildfires haven’t spared the abodes of celebrities, claiming structures owned by luminaries such as Anthony Hopkins and Paris Hilton.

Catastrophic fires have led to mass evacuations, with thousands displaced and over a 1000 buildings obliterated. Paris dubbed the infernos “hell” on earth, and the disaster has already claimed lives.
